The Very Rev. Msgr. Russell Harrington, Pastor of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Mire will conduct the funeral services. Interment will be in the St. Theresa Cemetery in Duson, LA.
Mr. Meche served in the United States Army from 1951 to 1952 during th Korean War. He worked for The Daily Advertiser as a Linotype Operator until his retirement.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Lurnice Leon Meche of Rayne, two daughters, Valarie Meche of Rayne, Paulette Meche Benoit and spouse Mike of Scott, one son, Paul Meche and spouse Leigh Ann of Carencro, two granddaughters, Averi Meche, Caleigh Meche both of Carencro.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Meche and Pamela Martin Meche, five sisters, Isabelle Meche, Joyce Meche, Grace Meche Hendricks, Willie Belle Meche Efferson, Lorena "Sweet" Meche Reynaud, two brothers, Solomon Meche, Cleven Meche.
