Leroy J. Anastasi
April 1, 1926 - January 21, 2022

Leroy Anastasi was born April 1, 1926, in Westphalia, IA. He was the fifth of six children born to Carl and Clara Anastasi. On August 1, 1950 he was married to Gladys Schechinger in Westphalia, IA. Leroy and Gladys proceeded to welcome three daughters to this marriage. He lovingly referred to his three daughters as his "three queens." He and his family enjoyed many summers at their second home in Lake View, IA, where they spent time with friends and family alike.

Leroy established and ran Anastasi Plumbing and Heating and continued to fill his "free time" with many hobbies he developed over the years. First, Leroy restored Victoria Station and opened it as a restaurant. Then, after retiring from Anastasi Plumbing and Heating, he moved on to his favorite hobby of restoring and selling Antique furniture, toy tractors, clocks, and Kirby vacuum cleaners.

Later in life, Leroy found a new love in the form of a hearty breakfast provided by his good friends at Milk & Honey. He always looked forward to his morning chats with James. Leroy worked in his shop fixing anything brought to him until he was 95. Upon his second retirement, Leroy moved to Elm Crest Assisted Living, where he made many new friends and was lovingly cared for by the Assisted Living Staff.

Leroy was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys (Schechinger) Anastasi.

He is survived by his brother Raymond (Francis) Anastasi; 3 daughters, Mary Jo (Tony) Sondag, Vicki (Gary) Fagan, and Kris (Dave) Pope; Grandchildren Molly (Cory) Brinker, Andy (Jeni) Sondag, Ryan (Casey) Fagan, Ana (Will) McConnell, Betsy Pope (Nick Finken); Great-Grandchildren Max, Joe, and Drew Brinker, Jace and Emmy Fagan, Jett Sondag, and Jack McConnell.
