Funeral services were held at St. Boniface Church, Westphalia, Monday, May 13th, at 9:00 a.m. for Stella Loretta Kepford, with Rev. Adam S. Reisz celebrating the Requiem High Mass. Burial was in St. Boniface cemetery. Pallbearers were Joe Wehr, Tony Goetz, Ray Rauterkus, Cletus Lickteig, Urban Henscheid and Charles Wageman.
Stella Loretta Kepford, the daughter of Carl and Clara (Schiltz) Anastasi was borb May 13, 1923 at Westphalia, Iowa and died May 10, 1963 at Myrtue Memorial hospital in Harlan, Iowa at the age of 39 years, 11 months and 27 days. Death was due to cancer.
Stella attended school at St. Boniface in Westphalia and graduated from high school with the Class of '41. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and the Rosary Society.
June 1, 1949, she was married to Donovan C. Kepford at St. Boniface Church in Westphalia, Iowa. Three children were born to this union, 2 sons and 1 daughter.
Her mother, two sisters and two brothers preceded her in death.
Surviving are her husband, Donovan, her children, Randall, Richard and Judy, all living at home in Westphalia; her father, Carl of Harlan, Iowa; two sisters: Odelia Stephany of Harlan, Iowa and Sr M. Margretta O.S.F. of Walls, Mississippi; three brothers: Earl of Westphalia, Iowa, Leroy of Harlan, Iowa and Raymond of Portsmouth, Iowa.
