Services for Ida Mildred Sickels, 93, of Osseo, were Saturday, Dec. 22, 2007, at the Osseo Church of the Nazarene.

Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Mrs. Sickels died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007, at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale after a short illness. She was born Ida Mildred Howell on May 16, 1914, to Mr. and Mrs. Leo (Martha Mounts) Howell in Bloomington, Ind.



She was married to Robert Sickels on Sept. 20, 1939, in Detroit, Mich. The Sickels lived in Texas for much of their married life and spent over 10 years traveling the United States in an R.V.

Until her death, Mrs. Sickels was an active member of the Osseo Church of the Nazarene and a resident for almost 10 years of Steeplepoint of Osseo, having been the first resident to move into the facility when it opened in 1997.

She is survived by two sons, Dr. Duke Sickels of Nashville, Tenn. and Dr. Richard Sickels of Maple Grove.

Mrs. Sickels was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; and son, Terry of Kodak, Tenn.; eight grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Memorials will go to the "God's Vision- Our Mission" capital campaign at the Osseo church.
