HOWARDWICK - Jimmy J. Baird, 70, died Friday, March 10, 2006, in Amarillo.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Briarwood Full Gospel Church of Pampa with the Rev. Gene Allen, retired Full Gospel pastor, and the Rev. Lynn Hancock, pastor of Briarwood Full Gospel Church, officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Mobeetie Cemetery in Mobeetie. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.

Mr. Baird was born March 4, 1936, in Mobeetie. He had been a resident of Howardwick for 10 years, moving from Pampa. He married Marietta Mitchell on Dec. 2, 1955, in Pampa. He was plant manager for Cabot Gas Processing for 17 years, retiring from Trident Gas Processing as plant manager in 1994. He was a member of Briarwood Full Gospel Church, and was a member of the Top O' Texas Masonic Lodge No. 1381 AF & AM of Pampa.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Karan Swan of Pampa; two sons, Jimmy Wayne Baird of Amarillo and Jay Baird of Panhandle; a brother, H.L. "Buster" Baird of Howardwick; a sister, Barbara Bruce of Pampa; four granddaughters, Payton Baird of Amarillo, Sara Swan of Pampa and Ashby Baird and Avery Baird, both of Canyon; his stepmother, Bess Baird of Dumas; two stepbrothers; and a stepsister.

The family suggests memorials be to Briarwood Full Gospel Church Building Fund, 1800 W. Harvester, Pampa, TX 79065 or a favorite charity.
