1900 census indicates Sarah Jane lived with her son, Thomas A Richardson and his wife and children in Fremont, Idaho, and lists her marital status as divorced. Her ex-husband was living with another son in Utah.

She then came from Idaho the winter before her death to live with her brother, Independence Taylor, who was living in Utah.

Burial location is not indicated in the obituary. Church membership records her death in 1922 and newspaper as 1921. No Utah death certificate has been found. Her brother, Independence, donated a portion of his land for the New Harmony Cemetery about 1909. It is not confirmed that she is buried there.
