"After many weeks of suffering, Mr. H.M. Rhyne, one of Burke's most prominent and highly respected citizens, passed into the great beyond last Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, at his home in Linville township. Mr. Rhyne was 69 years of age, and leaves a widow, one daughter and six sons, all of whom are among our best citizens. He was a consistent member of the Methodist church, having joined that church nearly fifty years ago.
The remains were interred in Forest Hill cemetery, Morganton, Sunday afternoon at 6 o'clock, Rev. R. L. Patton conducting the service."
