Melba E. Farr, 90, of Baytown was born November 12, 1917 in Houston County and passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2007 in a local healthcare facility. She was a 1936 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and was a member of First Baptist Church and the ExxonMobil Retiree Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, W. T. Farr; brother, Charles Cook; and sister, Palona Beaird. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ronald G. and Joyce Farr of Baytown; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Richard Finn of Sugar Land; sister, Murrel Boyett of La Porte; brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Eva Cook of Grapeland; sister-in-law, Jerry Cook of Baytown; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Friday, December 28, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Navarre Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Ingram and her special friend Ralph Elkins officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

In lieu of usual remembrances, contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, 505 Rollingbrook Dr., Baytown, TX 77521 or the charity of ones choice.

Her family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Federico Dancel and the staffs of The Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center at Baytown and Regency Hospice for their loving care and kindness.
