CARLSBAD--Graveside services for Vida "Evelyn" Lewis, 84, of Crow Flat, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Cienega Cemetery, Otero County, New Mexico, with the Rev. Bob Lewis of Lakewood Baptist Church officiating.
Mrs. Lewis died Friday, Dec. 3, 1999, at Carlsbad Medical Center.
Denton-Funchess Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Vida "Evelyn" Lewis was born Wednesday, Feb. 3, 1915, in Balmorhea, Texas. She was raised in El Paso and graduated from El Paso High School. She attended the College of Mines in El Paso.
In August 1933, she married Howell Lewis. They lived most of their married life in the Dell City/Crow Flats area.
Mrs. Lewis was a member of Otero County Cow-Belles for many years and a member of Dell Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Howell Lewis of Crow Flat; sons, Andrew Lewis of San Angelo, Texas, Gerald Lewis of Pecos, Texas, and Pete Lewis of Crow Flat; sisters, Audree McCardle and Beatrice Head of El Paso; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
