"The Yeakley family came way before the Rev War to Pennsylvania from Switzerland.
Either Bennett's name had been changed from Yeakley to Yeakle is still not settled. He was born Yeakley*, son of Peter Valentine Yeakley & Eliza Jane Stowe.
There are many questions about the last name of both Bennett and Ina. Bennett was born with the spelling Yeakley* but yet, his head stone and Ina's has Yeakle.
Son of Peter Valentine Yeakle & Eliza Jane Stowe
Peter Yeakle and Anna Ellen Kellums
John Michael Yeakley 1798 & Elizabeth Scaeffer*
Michael (Yeagle) Yeakley 1774 & Julina Babb*
George Yeakley 1738 REV WAR & Anna Deppen*
There are more than one or two ways to both spell and pronounce our name. My mothers family still used Yeakley but many do not. Yeakle=Yeagley=Yeaglie are just a few. The Dept. of Immigration has told me that there was only one family that entered this country and that was before the Rev War and all spellings are the same family. This makes us special!!! The places we still live in are, Arizona, Kansas, Missouri, North Carolina ,Oregon, Indiana New Mexico, Arkansas.
Although Bennett is a 5th generation, there are a few more in other families "
*Unsubstantiated items noted above. Bennett Yeakle's family appears to be descended from the Yeakle's of Maryland both via documentation and DNA connections to other descendants of his grandfather Peter Yeakle (m Louisa Sieber and Anna Kellems).
