Thelma, 86, Codwater died at Mercer County Community Hospital.

She was the daughter of Stanley and Juliana (Westerheide) Wendel. On Oct 12, 1957, she married Wilfred 'Junior' Marchal, who preceded her in death.

Surviving are five children: Sue (Elmer) Stachler and Steve Marchal, both Celina, Sandy (Dan) Niekamp, St. Sebastian, and Sharon (Mark) Klosterman and Stacie (Shane) Flowers, both Coldwater; two brothers: Jerry (Dorothy) and Tom Wendel, both Coldwater; a sister-in-law, Betty Marchal, Pleasant Hill; and twelve grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Deceased is a brother linked below.

A member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, Montezuma, the Christian Mothers sodality, the prayer chain at the church, she helped with funeral lunches for many years. She enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She worked at the former Mersman's and Martin's Greenhouse in Celina.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery.
