Born in Bloomington, Illinois, Glenn was the son of John and Lela Lockenvitz. Raised there on the family farm, he graduated from high school before serving in the Army during World War II in the Battle of the Bulge.
Marrying Mary Ellen Gerth, the couple moved to West Milford in 1961, raising two sons and two daughters there.
Glenn had a long career in the insurance industry, retiring as a Division Manager from State Farm.
In his down time, Glenn loved gardening and the game of golf. He also was a lifelong fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.
Glenn was also a very active parishioner of the Holy Faith Lutheran Church in Oak Ridge.
He is lovingly survived by his wife of 68 years, Mary Ellen Lockenvitz; his children, Renee Lockenvitz, Jeff Lockenvitz & his wife Carol, Lori Rosenberg & her husband Mike, and Tim Lockenvitz; his brother, Everett Lockenvitz; his sisters, Doris Siren and Rosemary Freed; and his grandchildren, Ryan Lockenvitz, Jessica Rosenberg, Dan Lockenvitz, Eric Lockenvitz and Phil Lockenvitz.
Visiting hours will be Monday from 4-8 pm at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held 10:30 am Tuesday at Holy Faith Lutheran Church, Oak Ridge. Burial will follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.
