PIONEER CHINO WOMAN PASSES
Funeral Services Will Be Held Tomorrow For Mrs. Jesse Mayhew
CHINO, May 21. - Funeral services will be held at the Baptist church here at 2 o'clock Wednesday for Mrs. Mary Emley Mayhew, aged 80, who died at her home, 343 Central avenue, yesterday morning of the infirmities of old age. She bad been critically ill for the past month.
The decedent was the widow of Jesse Mayhew, said to be the oldest pioneer in the Chino valley. He died about two months ago.
Mrs. Mayhew leaves two daugters, Mrs. Goldie Arrowsmith of Garden Grove; Mrs. W. E. Phillips of Chino, and three sons, Clay, of Stafford, Arizona: Felix, of Yuma, and Elmer of Chino, She is also survived by one brother, Marshal Hickey, a miner, residing at Phoenix, Arizona, and three sisters, Mrs. Leona English, of Pomona; Mrs. Sarah Sims of Hemet and Mr. Permelia Van Meter of Chino.
The funeral will be conducted by Rev. G. W. Rockwell, pastor of the Baptist church, assisted by Rev. F. A. Landers of Belvedere Gardens.
Interment will be In the Pomona cemetery beside the remains of her husband. Thomas J. Willis of the Chino Undertakings Parlors is in charge.
