FAYETTEVILLE -- Betty S. Meyer, 75, of Fayetteville passed away Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2007, in Fayetteville. She was born July 31 1932, in Viola, the daughter of John W. and Carrie Granville Wood Sherman. She was a self-employed buyer, member of the Central United Methodist Church, a fighter to the end and shopped till she dropped.

She is survived by one daughter, Nancy Meyer of Fayetteville; son-in-law, Peter Steinhart of Fayetteville; son, George Donald Meyer of Fayetteville; daughter-in-law, Judy Lynn Meyer of Fayetteville; three grandchildren, Aaron Meyer Giles, George Garret Meyer, Joshua Norman Durden, all of Fayetteville; one brother, Charles Zane Sherman and family of Viola.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
