Per the deed card several of her children's graves were moved to this lot in 1860. Lexington Cemetery has no record of what cemetery or cemeteries they were moved from. It is possible some were originally interred at the Old Episcopal Burial Ground, a nearby cemetery where there is still a grave for a John Keiser, possibly Amanda's father or relative, and also a William Keiser (1811-1837), possibly a brother or other relative.
Amanda Layton
Maiden name Keiser confirmed per original source marriage documents.
Birth abt 1808 per 1850 and 1860 US Census.
Death abt Sept 1864 per Lexington Cemetery plot card record.
Burial service per Lexington Cemetery plot card was September 17, 1864.
Wife of Thomas K. Layton per marriage records and newspaper clippings. The maiden name spelling of Keiser (not Kiser or Keyser) is confirmed multiple times.
She is the mother of Amanda C Layton also buried in this lot who died young (22) in 1860 in hospital after a long illness and Dr William Layton who died 1914. There were at least 9 children in total.
A theory propagated on Ancestry.com is that her father's name is John Keiser. However I have not found any supporting records available online to verify this as of yet. Please message me if you are aware of anything as I would love to be able to show it in my own tree.
There is a John Keiser listed in the records of the Old Episcopal Burial Ground that has an illegible/unreadable gravestone. I have not seen any marriage records for his son William J Keiser so I believe this gravestone may be his father John Keiser's. John and William are listed in OEBG records as interred there.

William and Amanda were born about 3 years apart. He died young (25).

It would be nice to be able to verity Amanda's Keiser family relations to give some closure to her generation of the of the Keiser family line.
