Ashley spent most of her upbringing as a child out in the country riding horse at her grandpa's ranch. Ashley was Basil and Helen's first grandchild. She was an avid traveler with them to pow wows, rodeos and school sports. She loved to giggle, play jokes and sing to her hearts content with her side-kicks Jesse James, Koko, Nikki and tag along cousin Hilly. They would get into mischief together and put on Christmas programs for everyone. Her grandpa loved when she sang "Grandpa tell me about the good ol' days" Ashley also attended some of her elementary and junior high school days in Grand Forks, North Dakota accompanying her mom as she completed college. Ashley played basketball in Fort Yates N.D. and transferred to Bismarck High School where she graduated in 2004. She attended Bismarck State College and graduated with a two-year degree. Ashley relocated with her mom and brother to Stillwater, Oklahoma and attended Meridian Technical College where she graduated with her Medical Transcriptionist certificate. Upon completion she worked with Indian Health service and transferred to Wahpeton, North Dakota. Ashley loved helping kids and especially young people. While at Wahpeton, she worked at Circle of Nations Boarding School where she worked in the girls' dorm. It was this experience that prompted her to keep pursuing her education so she attended college at the University of Minnesota for a time. Ashley then, decided to travel, she moved to Atlanta, Georgia and worked as a Server for an Italian restaurant for a short time than returned to North Dakota to be with family. Ashley was a jingle dress dancer. For a time, she was in a relationship with Charles Gipp and in 2012, Ashley gave birth to her beautiful little daughter Anela. Together they enjoyed their life together as a family in Prior Lake Minnesota. Ashley continued her career at Aun-Du-Young, Homeless Youth Shelter, Bloomington, Minnesota and then onto Spencer Montessori School, Prior Lake, Minnesota. In 2017 Ashley relocated to Bismarck North Dakota. Her greatest passion was cooking BIG meals and helping others if she could. Her north star was and always will be "Anela".

Ashley is proceeded in death by her Grandfather, Basil J. Alkire and her best auntie Stac, whom she joined together in the Spirit World. She will be especially missed by all her dear Family & Friends
