Eleanor A. Hall Dies, Funeral Set For Monday.

Maeser First - Eleanor Merkley Allen Hall, 70, died at her home shortly after 3 p.m. Wednesday of a heart ailment. Funeral services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. in the Maeser LDS Chapel.

Mrs. Hall was born November 7, 1884, in Vernal, a daughter of Phoebe Ann Hacking and George Davis Merkley. She was married to Orin Daniel Allen on December 31, 1903. He died later. She married Mark M. Hall on February 25, 1927.

She is survived by her husband, three sons, Karl and Lawrence, Vernal and Leonard C., Orem, six daughters, Viola Caldwell, Florence Massey and Annie Roberts, Vernal, Phebe Williams, California, Edith Bodily, Boise, and Audrey Hall, San Jose, California; 34 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Also among survivors are Parley V. Merkley, Mesa, Arizona and Morgan Merkley, Vernal, brothers; Audrey Richens, Vernal, sister.

Friends may call Vernal Mortuary Sunday afternoon and evening and at the home in Maeser Monday prior to the services.

Daughter of Frederick and Annie Elizabeth (Pace) Matley. She married Merle Ray Allen on February 3, 1949. Eleanor & Merle are both buried in Maeser Fairview Cemetery, Utah ~Brigham Young High School Alumni

She was a 1911 graduate of Brigham Young High School in Teacher Prep. ~Brigham Young High School Alumni

She is very modest and bashful. Had a low voice and a loveable disposition. Has an affinity in her mind, but has not yet found the concrete example. Is very systematic in her work. Has rosy cheeks. ~Source: BYHS Yearbook 1911.
