-Alford Edson Billings, son of Alford and Kizzie (Cannon) Billings, was born in Salem, Neb., Sept. 10, 1884, and died Sept. 27, 1953 at the Clinton General Hospital. When about a year old he moved to Urich, Mo., with his parents who preceded him in death several years ago, as did his two brothers, John A. and Dewey Billings, and one sister, Lydia Weidman. A prosperous grocer and stockman, he was united in marriage July 18, 1907, to Jessie May Herford and to this union was born one son, Clint. Wife and son are left to mourn his passing; two sisters, Mrs. Ina Nelson of Chicago and Minnie McLin of Geneseo, Kans., three brothers, Aaron C. of Urich, James G. and William E. of Kansas City; many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Sept. 29, 1953 at 2:00 p.m. at the Urich Christian Church, Rev. J. W. Allee officiating. Mrs. B. G. Carter sang "Does Jesus Care" and "In the Garden," accompanied by Mrs. D. A. Miller. Interment was in Urich Cemetery.
