Obituary of Jean Elizabeth James
Jean Elizabeth James, of Iowa City, died December 12, 2021. She was 96 years old.

Born January 16, 1925, in Hopewell, N.J., she spent her early years in the Trenton, N.J., area. She and her first husband, Noel Willis and their 4 children moved to Iowa City in 1961. They were divorced in 1987. Later, she married Lee Chad James Karie, formerly of West Liberty, IA. Chad died in 2008.

She is survived by her children: Craig Willis (Nancy), Nancy Keyes (Paul Holbrook), Pat Vincent and Karen Allen. Surviving grandchildren are Jennifer Willis, William Keyes and Erica Keyes; and Jean's sister, Doris Strzelec (Lou).

She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell A. and Susie T. Snook, who were both born in Hopewell, N.J. and later of Arlington, VA, where they resided for over 30 years, and a brother, Robert E. Snook.
