Excerpt from "Biography of Rev. John Rankin:"
...His daughter, Mary Eliza, now firty-five years old (sic), was in early life received to the communion of the church on profession of faith. She was married to Francis Crosby. When she was the mother of three children her husband died, and his three children died, two of them before his death and one afterwards. He was a pious man and died in the hope of eternal life; thus Mary has endured, all of which she has borne with christian fortitude. She is now married to Mr. Josiah Fletcher, by whom she has five children. He is a church member, and the children have been consecrated to God in baptism. Thus far in life Mrs. Fletcher has maintained a fair christian character...
