Aaleah Carbajal, age 10, a resident from Chimayo, passed away unexpectedly on December 4, 2021.
Aaleah was born on March 25, 2011 to Kristy Martínez in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Aaleah was a 5th grader at Tony E. Quintana Elementary School where she was loved by students and her teachers and who she loved. One of her teachers has said that Aaleah loved to read and always volunteered to read. Aaleah loved being around her family.
Aaleah and her mom would do arts and crafts all the time and she was always so proud of what she would create and she also loved her glow stick wars with her mother, sister, step-father and her new siblings.
Aaleah would play games on the phone and make Tic Tok videos with her sister Ariana. Aaleah loved spending time with her older brother, Jason, she loved going over to her older sister, Stephanie's home and playing with her niece Alison, whom she loved dearly. All of her siblings protected her since she was the baby of the family.
When she would go over to Auntie Crystal's home in Pojoaque she loved playing on the trampoline with her cousins and running around. Aaleah loved swimming in the pool and riding her younger cousin's four wheeler when she was at her Uncle Kenneth's home in El Guache. Aalean loved her hikes in the mountains, riding around on four wheelers and having picnics where she spent a lot of time with her Grandma Demy. Aaleah loved her rides with her Grandpa Kenny when they went to the store or when he took her to her cousins' birthday parties.
Aaleah was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandfather, Mauricio Sánchez, paternal great-grandparents, Hector and Dolores Martínez, her great-uncles, Donald and Harold Sánchez, Ricky, Ronnie and Carmen Martínez.
Aaleah is survived by her mother Kristy Martínez, (Jacob), her brother, Jason Martínez, sisters, Stephanie Martínez (Josh) and Ariana Carbajal, niece, Allison Marlow, grandma, Delmeria Martínez (Adelmo), grandpa, Kenny Martínez, aunt, Crystal (Ricardo), uncle, Kenneth (Trish), cousins, Samantha Márquez, Dominic and Christopher (CJ) Martínez, Donovan and Estella Ramírez, Marcos, Mariah and Josiah Martínez and many other relatives and friends.
A Devotional will take place on Friday, December 17, 2021 at Victory Faith Church at 7:00 p.m. A visitation will take place on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the DeVargas Funeral Home of Española with burial to follow at El Potero Cemetery in Chimayo. Serving the family as pallbearers are Kenneth, Jason, Dominic, C. J., and Marcos Martínez, Josh Marlow and Eric García. Honorary pallbearers are Stephanie Martínez, Ariana Carbajal, Mariah and Josiah Martínez, Samantha Márquez and Donovan and Estella Ramírez.
