Herb, 86, was the son Harvey and Rose (Wegman) Mayer. He graduated from Wetmore (KS) High School and worked at GoodYear Tire & Rubber Company for 38 years. He married Wilma J. Fritch on April 30, 1955, in Centralia, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, and his siblings, Mildred, Arlie, and David. Survivors include his sons, Brad Mayer and Tom Mayer, five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, his siblings, Carolyn, Harvey, and Rosalie, and his companion, Becky Palmer. Memorial services were held at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home in Topeka. Burial was in Maple Hill Cemetery.
