David Eugene Mayer, 70, of Wetmore, KS passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at The Pines South in Holton.

David was born September 4, 1948 in Seneca, KS, the son of Harvey Joseph Mayer, Sr. and Rose Wegman Mayer. He graduated from Wetmore High School in 1966 and lived most of his life in the Wetmore community.

David had served in the United States Navy and was a welder for Atchison Casting from 1972 until his retirement in 2011. He was a member of the Wetmore American Legion and the NRA.

He was married to Regina Louise Levick on April 1, 1970 in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. ...
David was preceded in death by his sister, Mildred Beesley and his brother, Arlie Mayer.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton, KS. Inurnment with military honors will follow in Wetmore Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Jackson County Friends of Hospice or Wetmore American Legion c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
