HEALDTON -- Graveside funeral services for Odie Pate, 74, will be 11 a.m. Monday at Mount Olive Cemetery with the Rev. Russell Cheatham officiating.

Mr. Pate died Friday morning, June 20, 1997, at Healdton after a sudden illness.

The son of Thomas E. and Lillie Mae Lawson Pate, he was born June 4, 1923, at Maud. He married Helen Butler on April 5, 1946, at Little Rock, Ark. They lived in the Healdton area for several years before his oil field work around the country. They moved back to Healdton in 1967.

Mr. Pate was a retired Mobile Pipeline Company foreman and had served in the U.S. Air Force in England during World War II. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and gardener, and a devoted grandfather.

Survivors include his wife, Helen, of the home; four daughters, Muriel McAlister, Hurst, Texas, Peggy Schlinke, Euless, Texas, Terry Wallace, Healdton, and Karen Pate, Arlington, Texas; his grandchildren, Steve McAlister and his wife, Amy, Hurst; Brady McAlister, Hurst; Paige Wallace, Healdton, and Whitney Wallace, Healdton; one great-granddaughter, Megan McAlister, Hurst; and one brother, Robert "Bob" Pate, Aztec, N.M. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Orbin Pate; and a sister, Dorothy Allen.

Bearers will be Hoot Gilbert, Wes Shipman, Rodney Shipman, Jackie Glenn, Aubrey Wallace and Billy Jack Walk.

Services are under the direction of Reser Funeral Home.
