The district attorney's office plans to file a petition in juvenile court asking that a 17-year-old boy accused in the shooting death of a Milwaukee man last week be tried in adult court.
The boy was charged Monday with second-degree intentional homicide in the death of Aaron Lamar, 38, of 3215 N. Richards St.
Asst. Dist. Atty. Thomas Schulz said Tuesday that Lamar had quarreled with a group of four or five boys. Lamar was shot in the chest with a bullet from a .22-caliber rifle. The quarrel took place in the 3100 block of N. Richards.
The boy is to make his initial appearance on the charge at 1 p.m. May 2 before Circuit Judge Ronald Goldberger. Court Commissioner Thomas R. Cooper on Monday ordered the youth held in detention.
