Muncie - Arvin Mills passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 10, at the Woodlands Nursing Home.He was born on October 7, 1929 to Chester D. and Helen Mills. He attended McKinley High school near Winchester and on September 26, 1946 he married the love of his life, Josephine (Jo), in Bedford, KY. They enjoyed 70 wonderful years of marriage.Throughout his life Arvin worked at Acme Lees Ins., Omar Bakery, and Sears, Roebuck & Co. He also enjoyed owning his own business, Mills Heating and Air. In 1993, he retired from the Muncie Community Schools after working there for 20 years.Family meant everything to Arvin. He and Jo enjoyed the partnership of making a wonderful home together and raising their four children. Arvin had an infectious laugh and will be remembered by all who knew him. He greeted everyone with a smile and was loved by all who knew him. He also enjoyed old cars and collecting coins.He is survived by three daughters, Ardith Cordes, Diana Wood and Connie Mills, and a son Michael Mills (Marcia), eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A sister, Ireda Welch and brother Dale L Mills (Betsy).Arvin was preceeded in death by his parents, his wife, a brother Wallace and Sisters Vivian and Oneida.Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 14 at 1:00 p.m. at the Parson Mortuary. Final resting place will be at the Woodlawn Cemetery near Farmland. Friends may call at the Parson Mortuary from 11:00 a.m. to service time on Saturday, October 14. A private family graveside service will follow.
