Mike L. VanHyning, 67, of Jacksonville, and formerly of Wyoming, died Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at his residence. He was born June 28, 1954, in Jacksonville, the son of William and Jo Ann Baldwin VanHyning. He married Beverly McCormick and they have enjoyed 40 years together.
Mike is survived by one son, Bobby McCormick of Jacksonville, four brothers, William D. (Teresa) VanHyning of Jacksonville, David (Bonnie) VanHyning of Arkansas, Steven "Jim" (Anna) VanHyning of Jacksonville, and Timothy (Cathy) VanHyning of Concord, several grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mike was involved in farming locally in Illinois and in Wyoming. He also drove for the State of Illinois. Mike loved traveling to Yellowstone, hunting and fishing, and was a devoted family man. He cherished his family and grandchildren, wanted the best for them, and did whatever he could to provide it.
A visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Monday, December 13, 2021, at Williamson Funeral Home in Jacksonville. There will be no service at this time. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Condolences may be left online at www.airsman-hires.com.
