A celebration of William Royce Callicotte's Life, age 87 of Jasper, will be 11:00am Friday, May 5, 2017 at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper. Visitation will be from 9:00am–11:00am on Friday, May 5, 2017, at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper.

Royce died May 1, 2017 at his home in Jasper, Texas. A native of Houston and longtime Jasper resident, he was a committed Christian, who spent the first hour of every day praying for those he loved. Royce was baptized in the Church of Christ and attended St. Michaels Catholic Church in Jasper with his wife until his death. He was an accountant with the Raine Printing Company in Houston until his retirement. Royce loved the USA and was proud to have served as a Sergeant with the United States Marine Corps in Korea during the Korean conflict until his Honorable Discharge. He loved his first wife, Joyce, who died of cancer and was blessed to find love again with his second wife, Rose, to whom he was married for over 32 years.

Royce is survived by his wife of over 32 years, Rose Jolly Callicotte, of Jasper; brother-in-law, John Armitage, of Jasper; two step-daughters, Michelle Harvey & husband Jay of Austin, Texas and Cindy Hallam & husband Walter of Dickinson, Texas; and two grandchildren, Catherine Rudolph & husband Joshua and Jennifer Garcia & husband Gerardo; and five great grandchildren, a niece, Carolyn Armitage, and a nephew, Kyle Armitage and wife, Sheila. He was also survived by a host of other family and friends.

Royce was preceded in death by his sister, Joy Armitage, a granddaughter, Angela Hallam, and a nephew, John Armitage.

Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Jasper.
