A celebration of Joy Armitage's life, age 85, of Jasper will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper with burial to follow in Zion Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at the funeral home.
Joy died Sunday, October 30, at her home in Jasper. A native of Houston & a longtime Jasper resident she married in 1949. She was interested in politics. An active republican she believed in voting. She was a member of the Jasper Women's Civic Club. (Recently voted in the 2016 Presidential Race).
Joy was preceded in death by a son John T. Armitage III.
