Wilma Knowlton, 88, of Jackson, passed away Friday, December 3, 2021, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born April 5, 1933, in Millersville, Missouri, to Jess and Connie Welker Green. Wilma's mother passed away when Wilma was only five years old, so Wilma was raised in the home of her maternal grandparents, George and Amanda Welker, in Kurreville, Missouri, where she also attended school.

Wilma was first married to Don Wolfenkoehler. They had three daughters, Donna, Larraine, and Patricia. She and Joseph Knowlton were married May 16, 1987. Joseph passed away June 11, 2000.

Wilma's employment included Lenco in Jackson and Horizon Music in Cape Girardeau.

Loving survivors include two daughters, Donna (Alan) Eakins of Jackson, Larraine (Brad) Brown of Chaffee, Missouri; a stepson, Chris Knowlton (Pam Holt) of Perryville; six grandchildren, Mindy Stanley (Darin Roberts) of Cape Girardeau, Christy Owens of Jackson, Michael (Mandy) Eakins of Nicholasville, Kentucky, Kevin (Brittany) Eakins of Cape Girardeau, Steven McCormick, Jr., of Jackson, Jana Wolters (Greg Bone) of Jackson; two step-grandchildren, Jason and Jennifer Knowlton of Cape Girardeau; eight great-grandchildren, MaKayla Newman (Terry Wolsey, Jr.) and son Bennett of Cape Girardeau; Chelsie (Alex) Kincaid and son Parker of Jackson; Sierra Owens (Trevor Lashley) of Jackson; Logan Wiggins of Jackson; Chase Roberts of Cape Girardeau; Addysen Walther of Jackson; Gabriel and Tobias Eakins of Cape Girardeau; and two half-siblings, Floyd Green of Marble Hill, Missouri, and Ruth Ann Faries of Gravel Hill, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Knowlton; her daughter, Patricia (Steve) McCormick; a great-grandson, Matthew Eakins; a half-brother, Jerry Green; and her parents.

Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, December 8, 2021, and from 10 a.m. to service time, Thursday, December 9, 2021, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral is at 11 a.m., Thursday, at the funeral home, with Bro. Delbert Mueller officiating. Burial will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
