She was born Sept. 1, 1912, in Almont, N.D, to Hogan and Anna (Seim) Anderson.
Dorothy became an elementary school teacher, and in 1962 went back to teaching in Whitefish until 1975, when they moved to Kalispell and retired.
Dorothy married Palmer Lalum in 1948, and they raised their children on a farm north of Joplin.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Palmer, in 1993; a daughter, Diane in 1999; and her daughter-in-law, Gaylene, in 2003.
She is survived by her son, Andy Lalum, of Kalispell; along with five grandchildren: Alysa and Annika Walker, and Adam, Andrea and Jessica Lalum; and a great-granddaughter, Abigail.
Burial will be in the Glacier Memorial Gardens.
