She was born February 21, 1943, in Sharon, Pennsylvania, to Abraham & Laurabelle (Rickert) Haynie, graduated from Brookfield High School in 1961, and further studied Home Economics at Kent State University. Florie married Daniel G. Smith on March 20, 1965. Together they have two children, Daniel J. and Anita. In the finest tradition of homemaking, Florie was known for keeping an impeccable home. A life-long member of the Brookfield Christian Church, she was recognized for 52 years of perfect attendance, and was as well a Sunday School Teacher at the church. She was a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star #518, Hartford, Ohio (currently Opal Chapter #181 of O.E.S., Cortland, Ohio); and Rainbow Girls. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, yoga, gardening, cooking, her golf league and listening to her granddaughter, A.J., sing; but more than all, she loved her church and family. Florie will be best remembered as a strong witness to the love of Jesus Christ, encouraging others on their journey, her smile, and her signature "wink".
She leaves her husband, Daniel and children Daniel J. (Chrissy Babos-Smith) Smith of Sharpsville, and Anita Smith (Pete), of Brookfield.
Preceding her in death are her parents, a brother William F. Haynie; and sisters Rose Moffett and Shirley Van Slyke.
