Florence Edna Stewart and Clarence Evans Alton were married at Onawa, Monona County, Iowa on June 26, 1912. They came with their family to Alberta about 1914, and were farming near Empress, Alberta by 1916. They had four children, Newell Clarence, Donald Merle, Florence Iona, and Nathan Stewart who died in infancy in Iowa. Sadly, Clarence died on January 5, 1919 from influenza and pneumonia. His remains were shipped to his mother's home, at Little Sioux, Iowa.
