Anna Mae Akins Mahan of Goldens Creek Community, Barbourville, Kentucky departed this life Friday, January 22, 2010 at the Oak Tree Hospital in Corbin, Kentucky. She was born January 31, 1931 in Whitley County, Kentucky to the late Earnest Earl Akins and Jincy Bennett Akins. She was 78 years, 11 months and 21 days of age. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Mahan; two sons, Darrell Mahan & Danny Mahan; two brothers, Ed Akins & Ronnie Akins and two sisters, Shirley Knight & Edith Watkins.
She is survived by 3 sons, Dennie Andy Mahan & wife Gwendolyn of Corbin, Ky., Delano Mike Mahan & wife Sharon of Barbourville, Ky., & Delmar David Mahan & wife Donna of Corbin, Ky.; 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Betty Taulbee & husband Delmar, Ethel Isaacs & husband Wilmon both of Corbin, Ky. and Emma Sue Gillis & husband Roy of Springboro, Ohio;2 brothers, Irvin Akins & wife Retha and Terry Akins & wife Barbara both of Corbin, Ky.; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Visitation will be after 6 P.M. Sunday, January 24, 2010 at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral services will be at 11 A.M. Monday, January 25, 2010 at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. George Peace & Rev. James Hodge officiating. Private graveside services will be conducted at the Mahan Family Cemetery.
