Catherine J. Gatts, a resident of Batavia, passed away at her residence on November 23, 2021 at the age of 79. She was born in Barbourville, KY and was preceded in death by her mother, Beatrice Bargo and step-father, Clark Bargo.

Catherine was survived by her husband of 59 years. She was the loving and devoted mother of three, beloved grandmother of four and great-grandmother of five, dear sister of four. Catherine was a devoted Christian woman who was diligent about praying for others. She loved cooking for loved ones and was an excellent seamstress. Catherine was the cherished wife for 59 years of Harold Gatts Sr., who she met at White Castle in Bond Hill and remained SWEETHEARTS ever since. She was the loving and devoted mother of Terri Gentry (Steve), Rhonda Gatts and Harold Gatts Jr. (Tabitha), beloved "Nana" of Brandi Zerges, Jordan Gentry, Josh Beck and Hannah Lindsey and great-grandmother of Quentin, Ty, Jackson, Thatcher and Gracie Zerges, dear sister of Jay Shelton, Juanita Kempf, Eva Shelton and Albert Shelton. Catherine was a devoted Christian woman who was diligent about praying for others. She loved cooking for loved ones and was an excellent seamstress. She also loved working in the yard and arranging flowers.

Family and friends are invited to her visitation on Wednesday, December 1 from 9-11 AM at E.C. Nurre Funeral Home, 177 W. Main St., Amelia. Funeral service to follow at 11 AM at the funeral home. Interment at Mt. Orab Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association
