Anna Van Ert Services Set For Monday
Services for Mrs. Anna Van Ert, 98, St. Joseph Nursing Home, formerly of 915 S. First St., will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Rev. Damian Zuerlein will officiate, and burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
Visitations will be Sunday from 3 to 9 p.m. at the Home for Funerals where the rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.
Mrs. Van Ert died Thursday evening at St. Joseph Nursing Home where she had resided for a number of years. She was born Jan. 4, 1883, at David City to the late Mr. and Mrs. Lambert Vanderheiden. She attended school at David City and married Joseph Van Ert on Nov. 16, 1904, at David City.
They lived there until 1921 when they moved to Oakdale. Later they went to Madison. Mrs. Van Ert had lived in Norfolk since 1928. She was a former member of the Legion of Mary.
Surviving are two sons and five daughters, L. H. Van Ert of Wichita, Kan., Theodore Van Ert and Mrs. L. W. (Frances) Standley, both of Grants Pass, Ore., Mrs. Antoinette Melcher of Battle Creek, Mrs. Martha Hoover of Lincoln, Mrs. Harold (Irene) Siphley of Evans, Colo., and Mrs. Kenneth (Bernadette) Huennekens of Portland, Ore., 24 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband on March 14, 1956, six brothers and three sisters.
