She was born on August 20, 1934, in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of Alice Shuler Howell and Russell Howell.
Marty was a devoted wife and mother.
She shared a house cleaning business with Pauline Austin for several years, and later enjoyed being a gift wrapper at Von Maur during the Christmas season.
Marty enjoyed gardening, baking, ceramics, and a variety of arts and crafts.
She enjoyed all kinds of music from her favorite Elvis to Country, Bluegrass, and she always had Leo Grecko Polka on the radio Sunday mornings.
Traveling was another favorite interest, visiting numerous states, national parks, cruises, etc.
Marty was the ever-busy mother and grandmother who enjoyed attending as many recitals and games as possible.
Marty was preceded in death by her husband, Bill (William) Weirather; mother, Alice; siblings, Ray, Roy, Lee, Donald, Kenny, Charlie, Bobby, Lola, and Helen; and son-in-law, Brent Sage.
In lieu of flowers, Marty asked that memorial gifts in her memory be made to the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, 315 18th Avenue, Hiawatha, IA or Amanda The Panda, a children's grief organization
