Doris Ramelle Edwards , 82, of Oakboro, passed away Monday, November 22, 2021 at her home.

Doris was born September 1, 1939 in Stanly County to the late Charlie Raymond Edwards and the late Verna Brooks Edwards.

She was also preceded in death by sister, Willie Jean Edwards Baucom; nephew, Stephen Baucom; brothers, James Benton Edwards and Charles Allen Edwards;

The family will receive friends Friday, November 26, 2021 from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM at Philadelphia Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow in the church at 2:00 PM officiated by Dr Carey Snellings and Rev. Dwight Mabry. Burial will follow at the Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery, 12568 Philadelphia Church Rd., Stanfield.

Doris graduated with the 1957 class of Oakboro High School, and continued her education at Evans Business College, Charlotte, NC. She was employed since December 1961 by Confederate Motors, Inc where she received her Chevrolet Business Accounting Managers Council 25 year Silver Honor Award which was based on accuracy and promptness in sending financial data to the Chevrolet Motor Division. A member of Philadelphia Baptist Church, Stanfield, NC she utilized her skills as a worker in Sunday School throughout her life.

A special thanks goes to niece, Jean Carol Smith and Stanly County Hospice for their loving care. Also a special thanks goes out to her neighbors Bobby and Teresa Morton, Konda Morton, Makayla Johnson, Linda Starnes (granddaughter Grace).

Survivors include brothers, Richard Leon Edwards and Harold Brooks Edwards; sister-in-law, Aileen Little Edwards and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery, 12568 Philadelphia Church Rd., Stanfield and Stanly County Hospice, 960 North First St., Albemarle NC, 28001
