Albert was the son of Charles Benson from Sweden and immigrated about 1881. He was a mine foreman and a farmer. Albert married Hanna Wikstrom about 1871, and they had 8 children with 6 surviving: Anna (1883-1914 MI)(Behrendt), John (1884), Julia (1890), Carl Alfred (1892-1963 WI), Clarence (1896),and Hildegarde Charlotte (1898-1988)(Kohlman). Albert died from arterial-sclerosis at the age of 70 years 4 months and 26 days. By 1940, Hanna was living with her daughter Hildegarde Kohlman in Huron, South Dakota.
