Actress, Singer. She was born in Stockholm, Sweden, on February 13, 1945, to a working-class family, and she was considered too significant for work as an actress. She attended music classics at the prestigious Adolf Fredrik's Music School in Stockholm, Sweden. She originally wanted to be a journalist but was persuaded by the famed actor, director, and author Per Ragnar to seek a theater education instead. She first studied theater at Marieborg Folk High School in Norrköping, Sweden, in 1964, and then at the Marionette Theater in Stockholm, Sweden. She also attended and studied at the Scenen School in Malmö, Sweden, from 1967 to 1970. She then worked as an actress in theater productions for the Malmö City Theatre, in Malmö, Sweden, from 1980 to 2005. She also did theater roles at Stockholm City Theatre in Stockholm, Sweden, Dramaten in Stockholm, Sweden, Malmö Music Theatre in Malmo, Sweden, and Riksteatern in Stockholm, Sweden. Besides her many theater roles, she also appeared in several Swedish movies and on television. In 1974, the Swedish film director and producer Jan Halldoff cast her in the role of 'Nurse Katarina' in his film, "The Last Adventure." The film which tells the story of a deranged young man and his relationship with his dominating mother and fiancee won the award for Best Film at the 11th Guldbagge Awards. Later that year she played, 'Vera' in the play "Jösses Flickor befrielsen är nära," which was directed by Suzanne Osten, and also participated in the play's soundtrack recording. Besides, "The Last Adventure" (1974), her many other film credits include, "Mackan" (1977), "Lämna mej inte ensam" (1980), "Slagskämpen" (1984), "1939" (1988), "Min store tjocke far" (1992), and "Love Fools" (1999). She also appeared in countless Swedish television shows and mini-series, most notably as 'Gerd Sjögren' in the first two seasons of the soap opera "Rederiet" from 1992 to 1993. She also lent her voice to children's programs and cartoons including, "Peter No-Tell" in 1982, and "Pippi Longstocking" in 1997. She continued working until her death. She passed away in her native Stockholm, Sweden, on January 18, 2018, peacefully at the age of 72, and she was buried in the Skogskyrkogården in Stockholm, Sweden, where several other famous Swedish personalities are also laid to rest.
