Many knew Hershall from owning and operating the Burger's gas station and store right off of the Charleston exit. He worked many years alongside his son Mark before Mark took it over in 1990. Hershall had been a longtime member of the Cleveland Elks lodge, serving for over 40 years. He was an avid boater and fisherman, loving to spend time on the water in his spare time. In his later years he would often be found listening to Jimmy Swaggart. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his siblings; Richard Burger, Willie Murphy and Reba Sparks. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his son, a grand-daughter, a grand-son, and two sisters.
Funeral Service for Hershall is planned for Monday November 15, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Companion Funeral Home, 2415 Georgetown, Road, Cleveland, TN 37311 with the Rev. Lake Walker officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior, beginning at 1:00. Internment will immediately follow the service at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens with Ernie Taylor, Randy Burger, Brian Pritchard, Tim Stinnett, Brian Collins and Jay Collins serving as pallbearers.
Companion Funeral Home and the Cody Family are honored to assist the Burger family with these arrangements.
