Harriet Lewis Shackelford
was born April 7, 1887.
[Her mother Harriet L Shackelford Stultz died in childbirth. She was born Harriet Lewis Stultz, but her surname changed when she was adopted by her mother's brother and wife (William George Shackelford and Martha Ann "Pattie" nee Richardson).

Harriet was the second of Peyton Wesley Stultz' wives. They married 14 Jun 1877 in Henry Co, VA. Her burial location is unknown, but she may be buried in the Stultz Family Cemetery where her husband and his third wife (Mary Jane "Mollie" nee Hodges) are buried.

Stultzes, Shackelfords, Richardsons, Martins, and others were tightly knit, often intermarrying, particularly in some of the small communities east of Martinsville, e.g., Leatherwood, Dyers Store, Axton, Boxwood, and Irisburg.
