Theo. E. Blackstone
Died
Dec 29 1890
Aged 56 years
His parents were John Wilford Blackstone 1796-1868
and Catherine Tomlinson 1806-1865
probably buried on the family farm near Shullsburg, Lafayette County, Wisconsin, with some of his children and siblings.
On 24 October 1855 Theodore E. Blackstone (no one has ever seen his middle name) married Mary Emma Hardy 1833-1923. His brother married her sister. We do not know where she is buried, but perhaps in Chinook, Blaine County, Montana, along with all there rest of their children except my great grandmother Katherine who was buried in Alaska where she lived.
Theodore E. Blackstone did not have an easy life. The family farm in Wisconsin did not pay and he moved his family and belongings to Chinook to farm when the railroad opened with everything in a rail car. He died of heat exhaustion there soon after. Many of the children continued to farm there but it is a wonder why from all the letters we got from them sent to Alaska.
He had 11 children but with some dying young and all the confusion about birth dates and names it is uncertain. Some of the aunties did not want anyone to know their ages so they tore the pages out of the family book on Blackstones.
His youngest son probably buried in Chinook which is not indexed yet had two children.
