Mr. Wilford Bain "Wick" Newby, age 79, of Bedford, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at his residence. Born January 22, 1942 in Bedford, he was the son of Joseph and Pearl (Alexander) Newby.
Mr. Newby served in the United States Army during Vietnam, having served with the 2nd Battalion, 138th Field Artillery. He retired from Kentucky Utilities in 2001 as a purchaser after many years of service.
Mr. Newby also owned a professional photography business and took many wedding photos over several years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking, baking, butterfly and bird watching, wildflowers, and spending time with his granddaughters.
Survivors include his wife, the former Linda Hackney; one son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Belinda Newby of Madison, Indiana; two sisters: Lucille McManis of Campbellsburg, Kentucky and Judy Bishop of Carrollton, Kentucky; and two granddaughters: Mackenzie and Alexandria Newby of Madison.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Bobby Newby; and two sisters: Pauline Watkins and Wanda Teague.
The Reverend Frank McGee will conduct the funeral services.
The Honor Guard from Samuel Woodfill Post #9, American Legion, Madison, and the Ceremonial Unit from the United States Army, Fort Knox, Kentucky will conduct a final salute and graveside services at the cemetery.
