Son of John Hegeman and Adrianna Voorhees, husband of Margaret Stoothoff, whom he married on March 16, 1840 in New York, and father of Jane Maria Lefferts (married Simeon J. Brown), John Jacob (married Anna K. Voorhees), Mary Ann Bergen (married Isaac D. Burroughs), and Harriet Voorhees Hegeman (married William H. Skidmore).

Also - One of the oldest residents of the town of Flatlands, Abraham Hegeman, son of the late John Hegeman and Adrianna Voorhees, died at his residence last Wed. Deceased was in the 81st year of his age and was well known and respected in the town. The funeral services were held on Friday at 3 p.m., in the Flatlands Reformed Church and were largely attended. Rev. John S. Gardner, pastor of the church, officiated.
