An interesting note about Edgar's interrment - it would seem that his remains are interred in the Old Mausoleum of the cemetery. However, I first photographed a niche with his name on it in the New Mausoleum a few years ago. My guess is that when his wife died many years later, his name was simply added to the plate when her ashes were interred in the new mausoleum.

His middle name is spelled Philipp. All of his siblings were given the middle name Philipp because if the last Jochimsen didn't work out in America they were going to drop it and use Philipp as the family's last name.

Edgar P. Jochimsen, prominent La Verne citrus grower and foreman of the 1947 County Grand Jury, died today at his home at 1128 Baseline Road, La Verne.
The cause of death was not immediately determined, but was believed to be a heart attack. He was 61 years of age and had seemingly been in excellent health.
A citrus grower for 28 years, Jochimsen was manager of the La Verne Fruit Exchange. He was born in Sioux City, Iowa, on Oct. 10, 1888.
Two years ago he headed the grand jury that investigated conditions in 68 jails and other places of detention in Los Angeles County.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred; two sons, Howard and Robert. He also leaves three brothers and three sisters living in Los Angeles, Frank and Edmond Jochimsen, Charles Jackson, Mrs. Irvin Iberg and Mrs. Wesley Iberg and Mrs. Jack Atkins.
Pierce Bros. Pomona Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
