L. Julian Marshall, 97, of Vinton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 30, 2021.

He was born in Hillsville, VA, on June 25, 1924; one of 8 children to the late Lawrence H. and Oder Quesenberry Marshall.

Julian proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean War, earning 2 Bronze Stars for his Valor.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years, Betty; his son, Steve Marshall (Darlene); 2 grandchildren, Jayne Marshall Richlak (Michael), Owen Lawrence Marshall; great-granddaughter, Maeve Harper Richlak; a brother, Dewey Journell Marshall.

His family will gather to receive friends at Oakey's Vinton Chapel at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, November 3, 2021; followed by a Celebration of his life at 2:00 pm.
Dr. Chris Monroe will officiate and interment with Military Honors will follow Mountain View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider memorials in his memory to Vinton Baptist Church.
