Virginia A. Dunbar, 87, of Lafayette, IN, passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Williamsport Nursing & Rehab.

She was born on May 27, 1934 in Lafayette, IN to the late George and Mary (Nicholson) White. Her first marriage was to Marion "Sonny" VanPelt, father of her children, and he later passed away. She later married Lloyd Dunbar and he too passed away.

Virginia worked as a bus driver for the Lafayette Head Start program, volunteer and employee at the Jenks Senior Center and sold Avon.

Virginia enjoyed bingo, word search puzzles, crafts and gardening. She enjoyed the time she had with her family, but she loved the time with all her grandchildren; that was her life. She truly will be missed by all who knew her and loved her.

Surviving are seven children; four siblings; 18 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; 28 great great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandchild.

Virginia was preceded in death by two sons - George VanPelt and Randy VanPelt; one brother, Jim Spalding; and three sisters - Barb Simms, Mary Terry and Joan Killion.

Visitation will be 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Service will follow at 11:00 AM at Soller-Baker Funeral Home Lafayette Chapel on Wednesday, October 27, 2021. Pastor Jamy Tyra wil be officiating. Interment will be at West Lebanon Cemetery in West Lebanon, IN.
