An attack of bronchial pneumonia proved fatal to Mrs Ruffina Margaret Slack, who died Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs William Putnam, five miles northwest of St Paris. Page Co, VA, was the birthplace of Mrs Slack, who came into this world on May 14, 1838, having passed her 78th year of age. She came to Ohio in 1857. Her marriage to DF Offenbacker took place May 8, 1853, two sons was born to this union, both are dead. She was married the second time to Charles Slack on September 23, 1860, two sons and two daughters were born to them. The daughter, Mrs NY Mathews and Mrs William Putnam, nine grandchildren, two step grandchildren are also living. Rev JW Icenbarger of Dayton held the funeral services from the Putnam home Tuesday. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery.
