Mr Litteral was a merchant and owner of the general store and cotton gin in Blevins, Texas.
Mr and Mrs Litteral were parents of five daughters; Carrie, Mary Elizabeth, Kate, Hallie, and May, four sons; Claud, Ron Cali, Thedford, and Ben, and three children who died during infancy.
Josephine died on April 12, 1899, at the young age of 34, leaving Joseph to care for their nine children.
In 1900 he married Viluila "Emma" Emaline Miles. She died in 1945, as did Joseph on May 22nd in Lorena, Texas at the home of his daughter Carrie Jennings. He is buried next to Josephine and their infant children in the Blevins Cemetery.
